Education and Training

Pieter Bredenkamp is a passionate clinical psychologist based in Cape town. Pieter obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Rhodes University, where he worked on research concerned with health behaviour and the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD). He completed his internship at Fort England Psychiatric Hospital in Makhanda, and worked for 12 months in community service at Galeshewe Day Hospital in Kimberley, where he treated patients of all age groups with a wide variety of presenting problems. He is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a clinical psychologist with registration number PS 0154059.

Pieter is trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, and works eagerly with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion-focused Couples Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Therapy. Pieter believes that therapy works best when client and therapist can work together to create insight, meaning, and change.
